South of the Boarder Report - March, 2007

Women's Conference The Women's Conference was a huge success with over 100 in attendance. By noon on the first day 9 women had accepted Jesus as their savior and 5 more rededicated their lives to the Lord. It was so neat to watch God work in the lives of these women. Kina was in charge of forming and leading an all women's worship team which ushered in the presence of our Lord during each service. It was amazing to see the freedom in worship as the women rejoiced in the Lord's presence.

Soccer Sunday On the first Sunday in March we began a new ministry for the older boys who live at the Love in Action Center. Soccer Sunday was a huge success! This is an incentive program for the boys who are willing to follow the rules of the center with respect. Those who complete their chores and have positive and respectful attitudes are allowed to come to church in Ixtlahuacan, enjoy a cookout after the service and spend the afternoon playing soccer with the kids from Ixtlahuacan. The guys were on their best behavior and were extremely excited when they won the huge game Chapala verses Ixtlahuacan. On the following Monday, Rodney reported that the plan had worked. Attitudes at the center were 100% better.

Building Project We want to thank all of you who are partnering with us to build the Christian Community Outreach Center. So far we have received a little over $1700usd to begin building. It is our hopes to have at least a room built before our first outreach team arrives in July.

Upcoming Events Holy Week Evangelism Starting on Monday the lake side will be saturated with individuals who want to share the love of Jesus with others. Christians from all over the lake side region will be hitting the streets handing out tracks, presenting skits and dramas and witnessing to the huge crowds that flock to the area for its warm climate and beautiful mountains and lake. All of this will be leading up to a huge worship event planned for Saturday the 7th in an effort to present the Gospel to the lost. Kid's Day April 28th we will celebrate Kid's Day. A wonderful holiday in Mexico just to celebrate children. This year we have planned a special event and have invited a group of clowns who give a special gospel presentation. We are very excited about inviting children from the town and sharing with them about Jesus.

Missionaries Rodney & Kina Dutro Rodney is recovering from his knee injury and is back at the Love In Action Center full-time. They are finishing up on the new office where he will be spending a lot of time organizing the children's governmental paperwork. Kina is almost 7 months along with the pregnancy. The doctor reports that the Dutro's are having another girl to add to the bunch. She has been assisting with Bible and Tract distribution for the Lakeside Holy Week Evangelism Event, in addition to leading worship at the Women's Conference. Their daughter Trinity turned 5 years old on March 29th.

Juan & Fabiola Millan Juan is now in charge of the prison ministry and busy organizing teams of men to visit the local jail every Saturday. In addition to that, his "Tent Making" marble and granite business is being extremely blessed. He currently has contracts on 3 kitchens. His earnings from these kitchens, or course will go back into the necessary materials he needs for the job, but he is quickly arriving to a place where his family will be blessed financially from this endeavor. Fabiola has started a new Sunday School class for the pre-teen girls. It is going well. And she is also planning the Shepherd's Heart Kid's Day event. Their oldest daughter turned 13 on March 17th.

Rich & Meme Thorpe Rich and Meme sold their home in mid-February. It was a complete blessing from the Lord. Interestingly enough it was purchased by a Hispanic couple who just moved to Bloomington. They are finalizing their fund-raising and details pertaining to their move down south and will be arriving just in time to celebrate Easter in Mexico. We are so excited about their official move into full time missions and know that they will be a blessing to Shepherd's Heart and to the people of Mexico.

May God Bless you exceedingly, abundantly, above all you can ask and imagine!
