The Family Christian Church (Iglesia
Familiar Cristiana) of Ixtlahuacan de los Membrillos is pastored
by Samuel and Ciria Dorantes. It is the only Christian church in Ixtlahuacan. It has been said that this church is a
"lighthouse" for the Chapala Lake region. Through heart
felt worship and discipleship we are helping to raise the next
generation for Christ.
Samuel and Ciria have three children: Sami,
Ciria & Grecia. Their vision is to see God turn the hearts of
the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to
their fathers. (Malachi 4:6)

The Church of the Holy Spirit
(Iglesia del Espíritu Santo) is located in Chapala, just 10
minutes from Ixtlahuacan. It is pastored by Raul and Anabel Frutos
who have three children: Emanual, Sami and Eden. Founded by Raul's
father and mother (Salvador & Tuli) over 20 years ago, it is the
largest bilingual church in the Chapala Lake region. Raul is a very
gifted worship leader and anointed pastor. Anabel is known for her
love for others. Both have a desire to share the love of Christ with
their community.

Shepherd's Heart partners with existing churches
in México in order to bridge the cultural barrier and to assist these
churches in meeting the needs within their community. This also creates a
ministry that is more than just a "hand out" because it
establishes an accountable relationship between the family receiving the
assistance and the local church. As a result, families receive practical,
physical assistance and Biblical discipleship training while the local
church grows and matures.
Shepherd's Heart is dedicated to serving in
these five areas: Spiritual Growth & Discipleship, Nutrition &
Hygiene, Baby Care, Medical Care and Emergency Relief. For example, SHMI
provides resources to help local churches evangelize and disciple through
Sunday Schools, Cell Groups, Bible Studies and Biblical Counseling. At the
core of the ministry is the desire to demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ
and bring every member of each family it assists into a closer
relationship with Him. We encourage and work alongside pastors and church
leaders to distribute food, medicine, clothing and other supplies to
people in desperate need. When a family is in crisis, they often do not
have a place to turn for support. Because of it's dedicated sponsors, SHMI
has the resources to provide emergency relief, when, for example, a father
is left without work, and to provide emergency medical care when needed.
These families represent the many who
have been blessed through Shepherd's Heart.
