Outreach Teams
Shepherd's Heart offers outreach opportunities year round to groups, families and individuals. The main purpose of these outreaches is to assist with the current ministries of SHMI. In addition to hosting work and construction teams and evangelistic groups, SHMI endeavors to create an atmosphere where families and individuals can discover that they have something to give to God. Through intercessory prayer, cutting hair, teaching crafts, child care, serving meals and home repairs, for example, individuals can share God's love through their service. After spending time on the mission field, teams and individuals return home forever changed with a new understanding and heart for the work and blessings of God. Spanish is not a requirement! If you don't see your question answered in the Frequently Asked Questions, please email us for more information.

Internships

Internships
Individuals can live in Mexico for up to six months, assist with the ministries of Shepherd's Heart, learn or improve their Spanish, experience Mexico's rich culture, study applicable material and in most cases receive university credit hours. As a result, they can gain valuable life experience on the mission field. This is a wonderful way to determine if God is calling you to serve as a full-time missionary. Email us for more information.

Retire with a Purpose
The Chapala lakeside region has the largest expatriate retirement population in the world (over 40,000). Europeans, Canadians and Americans come to the area for it's mild climate and it's large English speaking population. If you have a desire to serve the Lord and think you've missed your opportunity, don't be too quick to give up your dream. Join us in ministry and retire with a purpose. Email us for more information.

Short & Long Term Missions

Team working
Many teams work during the day, such as this group mixing and pouring cement and sealer to prepare a roof before the rainy season, and hold street evangelism meetings in the afternoon.

Our vision in hosting outreach teams is to provide opportunities to co-labor with career missionaries serving on the mission field. It is our hope that individuals who would not normally consider a missions outreach experience would come and serve with us in Mexico. We are here to serve God, the Body of Christ and the Mexican people, and are looking for individuals who are willing to lay aside their personal ambitions and serve with us. Remember each mission experience is different; come with an expectation that God will do what He wants done. We can make our plans, but God directs our steps.
Street drama
Silent dramas performed in the street to music are a very effective way to present the Gospel and encourage the Body of Christ. This group's drama told the story of four individuals' lives without hope before Jesus and their hope after asking Him to be their Lord.
