Community Outreach

Pastors Raul and Anabel Frutos lead a street evangelistic meeting in the barrios of Chapala, a very poor, needy district.

Inspired by Raul and Anabel Frutos and The Love in Action Center in Tepehua, Chapala, Shepherd's Heart is establishing a Christian Community Outreach Center and Children's Shelter in Ixtlahuacan de los Membrillos. The Children's Shelter will be a place to share the love of Jesus with abused, neglected and abandoned children in Mexico. The Christian Community Outreach Center will provide child care, vocational and English classes, a soup kitchen, clothes closet and food bank and host outreach teams, evangelistic events and discipleship classes.

The Love in Action Center feeds the community tacos with meat, potatoes or beans weekly. A principle from Scripture is always taught followed by singing praises to God.

Many impoverished families cannot afford to pay public school tuition and testing fees, nor can they buy the required school uniforms, shoes and school supplies. Public school is not free in Mexico. Shepherd's Heart is committed to providing an education for these children. They are, in return, held accountable for attendance and progress. Each year SHMI holds a "Back to School" drive to collect school supplies and financial support to make education a reality for as many children as possible.

In addition, we also host and assist with several outreach events during the year. Many people from around the world look forward to supporting and participating with us as we minister to the community. Some of the events include a Bible Drive, Shoe Drive, Hygiene Product & Baby Formula Drive, Christmas evangelistic events (such as Posadas & Three Kings' Day), Kid's Day Fiestas and Evangelistic Meetings with Food Baskets.
